What

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM ME?

  • Our work will fit your needs; there is no “one-size fits all” approach to mental performance consulting.
  • Our work will be based upon scientific research in the field of sport and performance psychology. I will share as much (or as little) information as you would like to know about theories and evidence-based practice.
  • We will be equal partners in the process. I want to understand your needs, goals, and motivations in order to develop effective performance strategies.
  • I will use a trial-and-error approach. If something isn’t working for you, then we’ll try something new. It’s not about me being “right.”
  • I will care about you as a person first and foremost. I will listen carefully. I will accept feedback in order to provide you with the greatest value in our work together.

WHAT TYPES OF PERFORMANCE STRATEGIES DO I EMPLOY?

  • FOCUS ENHANCEMENT
  • GOAL-SETTING
  • MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
  • MULTI-SENSORY IMAGERY
  • PERFORMANCE CHECKLISTS
  • PERFORMANCE / SKILLS PROFILING
  • PERFORMANCE ROUTINES
  • POSITIVE SELF-TALK
  • TEAM BUILDING & COHESION
  • MISSION & VALUE STATEMENTS

WHAT CONSTITUTES SUCCESS?

  • Success is defined based upon one’s needs and goals. I will help define what success means to you or your organization.
  • Success will be measured against a “baseline” understanding (assessment) of where partners stand when staring our work.
  • Success may be measured in a number of ways:

Objective Performance Improvements (e.g., statistics, times, etc.)

Partner Feedback

Careful Observation

Achievement of “Process” Goals (i.e., effort-based, controllable)

WHAT ARE KEY COMPONENTS OF YOUR SUCCESS?

Practicing Mindfulness: I believe that being rather than doing is the doorway to reaching one’s potential. I will likely ask partners to practice meditation and mindful breathing as part of our work together.

Practicing Discomfort: I encourage partners to take risks in service of meeting their goals. I will provide support every step of the way.

Practicing Accountability: I will demonstrate the importance of accountability in any relationship. Further, I will incorporate practices to help partners improve accountability to themselves and others.
